Reservation & Payment Policy
CHECK IN: Check In time is from 3pm on the day of arrival. We require Photographic Identification upon Check In.
CHECK OUT: Check Out on time is by 12 noon on the day of departure
BOOKINGS CALCELLATION POLICY: Applies to all bookings:
When you book we will ask you for a credit card / debit card number and expiry date to secure the booking. Credit/debit cards are checked for validity. We will only use this card in the event of a late cancellation. We require your card details to guarantee your booking. We will give you a reference number and send confirmation.
Policy for a booking of 1-2 rooms The cancellation notice is 24 hours prior to the date of arrival, otherwise a full nights charge will apply as compensation for loss.
Policy for a booking of 3-10 rooms The hotel will accept your cancellation without penalty up to 7 days before your arrival. This is defined as being before 2pm (the hotels check-in time) 7 days before you are due to stay.
Policy for a booking of 10-23 rooms The hotel will accept your cancellation without penalty up to 21 days before your arrival. This is defined as being before 2pm (the hotels check-in time) 21 days before you are due to stay.
What if you have to cancel?
In the event you cancel your booking inside the cancellation period we will attempt to fill your room If your room cannot be filled, the hotel will debit your card with the cost of one nights stay.Your notice of cancellation will only be effective when it is received by our Reservations Manager, at which time you will be given a cancellation number relating to the date and time of your call. This is important and must be kept by you as it is your record that a cancellation has been made and recorded.
Accommodation for Wedding Guests
For all Bridal couples we recommend that on initial booking you block book a number of rooms and provide us with a room allocation list 6 weeks prior to your wedding.
All Group Bookings
A rooming list is required for all group bookings 4 weeks prior to your reservation.
In the unlikely event of any damage being done to the hotel or property, unresolved, we reserve the right to charge the person/organisation responsible for the booking.
Payment Policy - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
ACCEPTED PAYMENT OPTIONS: – On Check-in guests will be asked to specify which payment method they will provide.
We accept: VISA CREDIT, VISA DEBIT, MASTERCARD, AMEX, MAESTRO, LASER and CASH.
Credit Cards: Guests wishing to pay with a Visa Credit, Mastercard or Amex card will be required to present same at check-in for pre-authorisation with your bank. This means that funds are reserved and guaranteed by your bank for completion on your departure. You will be asked to present your card again at check-out and only then will the payment be made by your bank.
Other Payment Cards: Guests wishing to pay with Visa Debit, Maestro or Laser cards will be required to pay in full on check-in as pre-authorisation is not a guaranteed payment option on this type of payment card.
Cheques: As cheques are not a guaranteed method of payment, regrettably therefore The Whistledown Hotel will not accept same under any circumstances.
ALCOHOL SAFE DRINKING POLICY
In accordance with our Terms and Conditions
Consumption of alcohol not purchased in the hotel is strictly prohibited.
Guests under the age of 18 years are strictly prohibited from drinking alcohol on the premises.
Guests bringing alcohol into the hotel risk having it confiscated, being asked to leave the premises and being charged corkage.
Where a contravention of hotel regulations has occurred the following automatic Corkage Charges will be applied. £25 per bottle of Sparkling Wine, Champagne or Spirits; £10 per bottle of wine; £3 per 25ml shot.
NON-SMOKING POLICY In accordance with our Terms and Conditions
The Whistledown Hotel operates a strict Non-Smoking Policy. We are responsible for upholding Non-Smoking Laws and are liable for a fine of up to £2500 if anyone is found to be or has been smoking in any of our Guest Rooms.
Should we find evidence or believe that guests have been smoking in Guest Rooms (this includes the smell of cigarettes in the rooms or cigarette butts foundbedroom windows) we reserve the right to add £100 to the bill for the expense of dry cleaning of curtains, bedding and carpet cleaning etc.If the guests are part way through a stay they will be asked to leave the premises with no refund being given.
